ATTFE Snowman Window
Hand-painted seasonal window display
Project Overview
The ATTFE Snowman window was a large-scale, hand-painted seasonal display created to bring warmth, character, and visibility to the building during the winter period.
Designed in my illustration style, the piece transformed a plain storefront window into a festive focal point that attracted attention from passers-by and created a welcoming atmosphere for learners, staff, and the wider community.

The Concept
The aim was to create something:
-
Instantly recognisable
-
Family-friendly and approachable
-
Bold enough to be seen from a distance
-
Detailed enough to reward closer viewing
The central snowman character became the anchor of the design, surrounded by seasonal elements that framed the full window space without overcrowding it.
The composition was carefully balanced to work with the proportions of the glass panels and internal lighting.
Process
Every project begins with illustration.
For this window:
-
Initial concept sketches were developed to explore layout and character design.
-
The composition was refined to suit the exact window dimensions.
-
The design was hand-painted directly onto the exterior glass.
Working at scale requires planning for line thickness, visibility, and contrast. The artwork was designed to remain clear both during daylight and evening hours.

The Result
-
A high-impact seasonal display
-
Increased visual presence for the building
-
A welcoming and memorable exterior
-
Artwork that felt professional while still playful
The snowman became a recognisable feature throughout the festive period and demonstrated how illustration can successfully translate into large-format public work.
